From Costa Rica, last month. Taken in the wild (i.e no setup) not far from our lodge at Cano Negro. C&C appreciated.

Splendid image. I'm just curious. Was noise reduction applied to the background?

Thanks Charles. Yes, I spent a bit of time trying to mask the background from the subject foliage, and then ran a fairly heavy dose of Topaz DeNoise on the BG.

Sweet image. Love the pose and the BG is outstanding.

It appears that you did an excellent job with the noise reduction. I struggle with that at times but, like you, do have Topaz DeNoise.

Nice image. really like the pose.

IMO it's a touch flat and a bit dark overall.... (I checked it in Firefox and it looks the same there even though the pic is missing it's color space tag.)

Bill: I like this unusual pose but with good eye contact. If this were mine I might be enticed to crop some from the right as the dead leaves there continue to draw my eye away from the bird. But all in all this is a nice image without a setup.

I'm also pleased to see the performance of the D7000 at a higher ISO. I tend to keep my new D7000 at 800 or below but am starting to explore the capabilities at higher ISOs.

    Thanks for showing.

    Linda
