Wow. What perfect timing. Interesting to see how big a sloth bear really is and the cubs on her back. Terrific behavior shot. Thanks for sharing this.
very interesting I have never seen such a shot before, looks like you could add some more sharpening to the image
out of curiosity what is the reason for the tigers to provoke it? to kill the cubs? those poor little guys have to be scared out of their minds hanging onto mommas back !
Great interaction. I hope you have more of it to share.
TFS,
Rachel
I agree, good action.
Dicky, please add the technical information (exposure and equipment used to future posts) as it helps us to critique.
Sorry:
f 4.0 at 1/400 and ISO 400. D 300 Nikon and Nikon 600 mm f 4.0 lens on a bean bag
Hi Dicky, nice to see you posting again, especially with rare content like this.I assume this was not on 'your' patch?
Personally I might be tempted to crop a little off the top and perhaps add some selective sharpening on the Tiger.
I see you are following the Master and have moved to Nikon, guess there will not be a seat in your jeep for a Canon user then, LOL.
TFS

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
Fantastic interaction, thanks for sharing such an interesting image.
.ost people would be happy to get an image of a Sloth Bear but this is truly remarkable!
This is the best image I have seen on this forum for long time
Glad to see the outcome was a win for the Bear.
Please post the Bear charge image
Truly a thing of beauty and amazement!!
There was no reason fro the bear and tigers to get into a confrontation. The two tigers (a mating pair) were on a plateau when the bear walked into the scene. Once they got close there had to be a face off - establish the pecking order variety. The bear was far more desperate and the tigers were not really into the fight ever.
I have got the story on my blog -

Steve: I moved to Nikon about two and a half years ago, mainly for the 200-400 lens, which is the best range for a place like Ranthambhore. Agreed that the picture can be processed better. I do most of my processing in May, June and July when the "shooting season" kind of gets over in Ranthambhore.
