This is my first real attempt at a blur. Thinking it might be better with a bit more blur, and not as much plant detail, and the white highlights are distracting. Some PP, but pretty much SOOC.

Brendan, Not bad for a first attempt. It looks like streaks of pinkish purple. As presented I might take a slice off the top. Keep experimenting and moving your camera in different directions and change up your shutter speed. I didn't see your specs listed.

Nice motion blur, Brendan. The colors streaks are nice. Excellent first try.

Brendan, It's a good start. I looks like it was a bright day, so you'll be limited in the length of your exposure for the blur and prone to the bright contrast areas you noted. Try again in a shaded area or cloudy day and you'll have more opportunities for the results you're looking for. It takes a little practice and experimenting so keep at it !!

Hi Brendan, good suggestions already mentioned. I might be inclined to try an up and down motion with this one as that is the direction which the petals and leaves are pointing mostly. Look forward to your next blurs!

Not a bad first try, Brendan. I like the colors. Don't really have anything to add to the great suggestions already given. Keep at it!
