    Joe:

    Darn birds, don't always do what we want.

    The fill flash certainly helped, but it left you with a rather unnatural looking highlight (unnaturally low on the eye, and small)

    The BG is very nice. Well exposed.
    The vine makes for some interesting detail in the perch, but a little too busy, esp the left end.

    Yep, those darn birds most often do as they wish!

    A minor case of "steel-eye" needs to be cleaned-up, and the light angle wasn't advantageous, even with flash used. I do like the pose and the BG. Hope this guy will be give you another chance!

    Except for the lower left end of the perch , it is quite inetresting . A brilliant shot !! Would have cleaned the steel eye and maybe moved the catchlight a bit to give a natural look .
