Caught this Cormorant at close quarters in Wakadahatchee in this wide-open mouth look. Never saw this before.

Quite the close-up for the theme!! Looks like this individual is looking straight at you!
I'm thinking it would have been advantageous to go as a vertical here with more room above and below (although I realize you likely didn't expect this guy to give you this pose). Some fill-flash would have helped with the shade and backlit situation. I like the open bill pose, and very sweet BG.
