    This quasi-domestic goose kept getting in my way of photographing the "real" wild ducks at a local city park pond. Finally I pointed the camera his/her way and was amazed at the serious serrations on the bill. "All the better to eat you with"!

    Canon 40D, Canon 70-200 f2.8 L IS, 1/4000, f4, ISO 400.

    really pops on the dark BG. Exp & DOF look good..TFS Nancy

    Looks like a colourful dinosaur! I wouldn't mess with these guys around their nests!!:eek:

    I'm normally OK with thin DOF when the eye is sharp, but in this case the since bill's serrations are so much a part of the story I would have stopped down to get the bill in perfect focus too (although there is not much missing as is).

    Good job on the exposure with the white on dark comp.

    Nancy:

    Tight, but very effective framing for this pose. Strong colors, neat eye,forehead looks like a dinosaur.

    Well seen and captured. Agree with Daniel about DOF, had plenty of shutter speed to trade some for DOF.
