These guys can be a nuisance, getting at the feed meant for the birds, and occasionally making forays into our attic, but they're quite photogenic. One of the 1st images made with my new Nikon D7000, with the 300 F/4 AF-S and 1.4TC. Taken through a window..

1/250, f/8, ISO1600. Mild noise reduction applied in Lightroom.

especially for taken through a window, good capture. obviously the point of focus in the face, leaving the other parts of the body a bit softer. Good eye catch.

Congrats on the new camera. Nice comp and well done through the window. I like the crumbs of the seeds/nuts on the face.

Interesting Richard that these are Red, as they are identical to our Grey ones which are classified as vermin, whereas our Red ones are much more of a character, with ear tuffs in the winter months and are far more attractive IMHO. I like the pose/perch and detail where it counts, although I might be tempted to use a fraction of Highlight/Shadow just to bring some detail out a bit more. Personally a little big in the frame for me.

You keep your windows very clean.
