    Default Early morning flight

Shot this image of a mallard at about 6:30 am. It was cold and very wind. I like the blue/black combo. Nikon D300s 400mm f2.8 1/60 iso 1000 induro tripod. crop off the top and bottom and adjusted in curves comments welcome
    Thanks

    Randy:

Good panning technique to get the body this sharp at such a slow shutter speed.

Like the open bill. Does give a strong sense of being very early, with silhouette and dark water.

Would prefer it if the dark band didn't intersect with head.

Hope to get out this weekend, but weather sounds challenging!

    Cheers

I like the colour combo too. Good silhouette that you could opt to fully blacken. I only wish the dark streak above the head wasn't there.
