Top notch shot Michael! Great eye contact from both birds, excellent wing position, perfect exposure, and good sharpness. Maybe a bit more canvas at the bottom of the frame.

On my monitor (calibrated) the eyes and bills seem a bit over saturates/vibrant...Are they like that in real life? (never seen one myself, but I know Canon's tend to oversaturate reds)

I think he caught something more than an oyster....

For me this is what bird photography is all about - wonderful behaviour captured beautifully. Reds look fine to me on my calibrated monitor. (I have seen and photographed these birds). Agree with Doug regarding some more room at the bottom. Would also try to recover some more detail in the underwing.

Framing and REDs and ORANGEs look fine to me from here. Actually love the framing and the perspective. Added 33 points of BLACK to the WHITEs in Selective Color for a quick fix of the WHITEs. Comparing that with a Linear Burn would be best for the optimized master file. Did I forget to say that this is one fine image? It is.

Beautiful Michael, Love the action captured, Artie's repost looks good. Reds look fine to me. I agree a tiny bit more room at the bottom- great job!

Superb capture of bird behaviour and interaction. I agree a tad more at the bottom.

Artie's repost has toned down the brightness of the reds which fixed what I was seeing as excessive saturation/vibrance...looks better. It also shifted the blues (water) a bit....I didn't mind/notice an issue with it in the original but I do think I like the somewhat bluer color of the repost better.

Excellent pic. I even like that the far wing is a bit OOF due to DOF. I normally wouldn't in a "frozen shot", but in this case it adds a feel of the action.

Excellent timing on the poses and interaction..

    Framing looks good to me.

Repost tones down the whites but I think red's are off a bit from what i am used to.

Good for you to do such a fine job capturing the moment.

Well timed to capture the moment Michael, and I feel you have got the exposure spot on here. Reds look good to me too. Another vote for more room at the bottom.
