    Default Ground Squirrel

I am heading off tomorrow for a 3-week trip which includes a stint in Botswana (cannot wait! ).

I will try to log on when possible, but in any case I hope to see you all in the middle of May with some new images and a rejuvenated soul.

This ground squirrel was photographed in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in one of the rest camps. They are wild but quite habituated. I was lying on my stomach in the dust to get this angle. Taken at midday in overcast conditions.

    Morkel,
I really like the eye contact, the perspective is a huge plus.
The image is sharp and exposed well with an interesting subject.
IMO more room to the right and bottom would make this an even stronger image.

Morkel, nice departing gift. Would agree with James' assessment regarding extra room. Love the pose and detail in this image, pov fantastic and I think the oof squirrel in the background gives a nice depth. Have a great trip.

I am going to agree with James and Hilary, except I would eliminate the OOF squirrel - if it was a bit sharper I would perhaps like its presence better.

Hi Morkel, I would agree on more room right & below, plus the removal of the OOF squirrel. The low POV certainly makes the image.
