    Default Merganser Drawing

This pair of Mergansers showed up at the Erie National Wildlife Refuge in Pennsylvania on Friday.
I loved the messy look of the old cattails and weeds and the ripples of water in the late evening sun.
I used topaz detail and topaz adjust to get the look of a pencil drawing type image.
desaturated a little after all adjustments were made.
    Enjoy, Janet

Janet, I agree - the messy environment really adds to this image, except for maybe the small twigs just in front of the ducks. And I love the little bird in the bottom-right - the eye is brought to so many places in this image.

Janet, This has your signature look all over it. I like the de-aturated look and the sketched look. I like the way you were thinking OOTB for this one. The comp. is nice too. It may look nice w/ a sliver off the bottom too.

Interesting image that has a "cold" feel.
The water rings are a strong element in this image.
Like Denise I feel a little of the bottom would make this a stronger image.

Hi Janet, beautifully done. I prefer James' cropped repost and agree with Scott on the small twigs in front of the ducks. Nice capture!
