Default European bee eater (Merops apiaster)

I choose in this photo a diferente composition of the European bee eater, this bird has amazing colors, so I choose to miss the eye and to capture his back colours.
    Hope you like it...

    Humberto:

A lovely display of the colors and patterns on back, with nice pose, very complimentary background.

I would like a bit more at the top so the wing tips aren't so close to the edge, if you have it, and in a perfect world, would like the clump of leaves not to be on the branch. This image is so simple and clean, that would play that up even further.

If the leaves hadn't been there, would def. consider a more vertical crop to play up the wing stretch.

This works well for me. Cheers

Absolutely gorgeous! Would like more room at the top. Maybe even a vertical crop would be better?

I can try do ad some canvas in the top, I just made some rotation to the image, and have no room in the original raw...

Great idea to show off those wonderful colors!
Would like more room at the top and a bit more on the bottom as well.

Fantastic image with such wonderful colours.

I agree with a bit more canvas top and bottom.

Lovely image. I layered background, compliments the subject well. I agree with the previous crop comments. Gorgeous shot.

A lovely photo. Great detail, colours and idea.

I also prefer a bit more room top and bottom.

I don't mind the leaves as a bit of habitat and if mine I might consider a crop from left to counter balance the bit of weight from leaves on the right.

    Very well done.

Great idea. Love the pose and the colors. I too would like to see a bit more room top and bottom.

Excellent choice for something different. Colors are lovely. I agree about it needing more room and with the suggestion to explore a vertical crop. Agree with Randy's point about the leaves: the angles made by the bird's wings really capture the viewer's attention, but that is broken by the foliage. Still, a fine image.

A beautiful shot - love the colors and outstretched wings. Ditto previous comments about crop and leaves; but for me it's a winner just as posted.

Agree with everyone on the crop and space for the wings. But full marks for the superb freeze and details. Loved every bit of it.

Well thought out! This backview is perfect for showing off the colours. I don't even miss seeing the face! As if the bird ain't colourful enough the BG had to put on a colour clinic too. I agree with more room top and bottom, but I don't mind the foliage.

    Well done!

Apart from some more room top and below I especially like how the BG matches the overall colours of the wingspread, very nice indeed Humberto.
