Great capture with lots of detail, I would try to lighter the shadows on his neck...

    Marc:

It is a bit of a ugly face, but tremendous character. The light angle well to the right has caused some shadows as Humberto mentioned, but has also helped play up the detail and texture, esp. in the neck/throat area.

I would try some subtle shadow work to try to soften the shadows.

If it were mine, I would crop down from the top a bit. I am not bothered by square crops, esp. when you have the very strong diagonal from the bill.

    Cheers

    A very strong image.
    Lots of character.

The straight line of the shadow in lrc is a bit distracting and could be reduced a bit if you do that type of thing.

I really like the expression of the storks face. It seems to be quite content with its looks.

I might also lighten the area around the eye a touch.

You really show what great character the face has. Good comp. and fine job on exposure.

Despite its name this guy looks quite happy (in french "marabou" means "in a bad mood")

I agree with Dave re: the sharp shadow line in LRC. I also agree there is a bit too much room above. Very sharp - almost too much.

Lots of personality in this image!
