Congratulations Gary Esman for your image "Trumpeter" being chosen as the Avain Image of the Week for the week ending 3/18/2011!!!
    50D, f/8, iso 400, 1/2000, 100-400mm at 275mm.

The ice on our lakes is melting fast here. Thought that the background pattern made a typical Trumpeter Swan fly by and little more interesting.

Thanks for taking the time to look and appreciate your comments!

    Gary:

Congrats on a fine image, love the pan/blur effect and the shadow.

    Well done!

WOW thank you. This is a huge honor for me. I would like to take the time to thank Randy Stout for all the unpaid time that he spends helping others become better photographers. He has a experienced eye and never backs down to questions or giving advice. His thread to post ratio is amazing. Living within a half hour or so from him has given me many opportunities to shoot together. The excited he has is certainly contagious.
Also, a huge thank you to the other moderators and members that spend time on the critiques. I know of no other hobby or sport that information is so freely given. Try to get info from a local fisherman as to where he got his limit the previous day.

    Gary.
