Took this down at La Jolla back in January. Not exactly a difficult species to shoot, but I liked being able to see the beautiful details of the eye, bill, and feathers up-close. Cropped & rotated image for diagonal & ROT positioning, lightened eye, removed blue cast from feathers, curves, NR, sharpening.

Beautiful portrait. Well exposed and tack sharp. There is a little noise but does not bother me. Well done.

Wonderful image, great detail, but also very smooth and creamy. Which 70-200 was this?

If it were mine I would run some BG NR The light seems to be coming from the left, so the right portion of the bird's head seems to be a bit darker - perhaps some dodging to even out the exposure.

Thanks for the feedback, folks. Will do a tad more NR on BG, and agree with John about evening the light out a bit.
