I was messing around yesterday and found my camera hunting way too much, and mis-focusing.
It was a low contrast day w/ lower light levels (f/2.8, ISO800, 1/500, w/o TC's) and I'm sure that contributed. (bumped ISO for the TC's)
TC's were a Kenko TelePro Plus 300 1.4x and a Sigma EX 2x (latest one). I don't have any issues using these with other lenses (other than manual focus above f/8 and inherent loss of IQ). But they were unusable.
If it's a brand thing, then I don't know what I should do because I don't *think* the Nikon TC III's will work/mount on my Sigma 300-800 which is where I *need* them.
I'll try it in better light (eventually, nothing but rain/overcast), but I didn't think the light was bad enough for the behavior I saw. (there were plenty of "lines" for the sensors. The lens worked rock solid without TC's)
I hadn't messed with it before really because I usually just switch lenses but it would be nice to have the option for walkabouts.
