    captured rainbow boy here at the feeder (duh!). wish I could have had him looking at me. Next time. I tried to crop, but couldn't fiqure out any way to really hide the feeder and he would have looked dumb not perched on anything. sharpened and lightned up the eye in PS

    MIII 500 f/4 IS 2X TC ISO 500 EV0 1/640 @ f/8

    Hi Bruce Good crop to minimize the feeder Would just leave a tad more on the back !!!

    Here it seems the focusing point was on the shoulder of the hummer That area is lots sharper than the eye If you are cropping tight in camera (which you should) remember working close will give you very little dof Need to use on shot and recompose You can also use a different sensor point !!!

    Alred - next time i'll try focusing, and recomposing. Don't think I have anything but the center sensor with the 2X TC ?? thanks for the critique! I think I nailed the exposure, and had the sun behind me this time..

    yep, you hit the exposure dead on!! beautiful bird, bruce. good luck getting him with a better head angle. cant wait to see more on this guy.
