    Default European-bee-eater (Merops apiaster)

My new (used) canon 600mm is simpling amazing, this image was shot this weekend, And never had taken so many photos of the european bee eater, I went to shot in the morning (I thought it was just in the morning), but after I made 20Gb of shots in two hours. I had to go home at lunch time, empty the memory cards, and back in the afternoon.
In the afternoon, more of the same, in a couple of hours, more 20 Gb of photos...

This is not my best photo, head angle its not perfect..., but its not easy to shot 3 european-bee-eater in one perch, so this is my first choise for this year first post of bee-eater.

I had 5 bee-eaters at same time in the same setup (didn't catch them all )...

    Canon 7D+Canon 600mm f/4, ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/3200

Forgot to mention, had 0,5 cm canvas in bottom and in the left side...

This is a stunner, Humberto. Love the colors and the composition. Yes, head angles not perfect but I can't imagine how you could do that with this number of birds in the frame. Wonderful clarity, looks like that new lens is serving you well!

Colours are awesome and bg is perfect.

I really like the pose of the two birds facing each other.

Photo is nice and sharp and looking forward to more bee-eaters.

Yep, getting a bunch of bee eaters all looking the same way takes luck and patience. I do like the colours and sharpness, and the BG colour really looks great. Ive used a 600m for a couple of shots, and its an amazing lens. Congrats. Now go and get those five you were taliking about.

    Humberto:

sounds like you are having great fun with your new toy.

Lovely colors in the bird, nice BG,sharp, well exposed. Nice interaction.

In a perfect world, would prefer the far right bird not be there, since he doesn't seem to be part of the interaction of the other two.

I expect to see a few more from this outing!!

    Cheers

WOW! The BG is wonderful and the fact that all 3 birds are in sharp focus speaks very well. I look forward to seeing more of this series and from your new lens. Congrats on the lens and the shot!

Love the colors and interaction of the two birds I do wish the third bird was not there as it adds nothing to the image.

Great image with a background that is sympathetic to the subject. Fantastic you were able to get 3 birds in the frame.

Tack sharp with lovely interaction between the 2 birds.

    Beautiful birds well photographed. Stunning!

Incredible color and interaction. The balance of the birds and bit of greenery is excellent. I say the head angles are perfect for this shot. With their backs to us it would be very strained to have the head rotated toward us. I disagree with the complaint about the 3rd bird. It adds some innocent bystander humor.
