Default Behavior cues for Finches, Bluebirds & Yellow Throats

These are some of the songbirds at my local lake, and I am trying to anticipate better when they will take flight so as to get a BIF image. I know that often times, when one mate lifts off, the other will follow shortly, but what about other cues?

Look for a scrunching or tensing of the head/neck area. Takeoff may follow immediately after.
