From February...I can't forget the awesome day on the Hooptie Deux with captain Shadle (and Roman, Randy, Robert A, Denise, and Artie - full "BPN" house for the morning session!). This is from the afternoon session with Roman and Randy. I guess James had pity that I only had a "small" lens, so at the end of the day he gave me the OK to approach a small group that was resting on the shore of one of the islands. I suspect the real reason was that he wanted to take images of yours truly in action!!
A careful approach allowed me to get full frame images with my 100-400L lens. You can see me in action here, image courtesy of James:
Canon 30D + 100-400L @380mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/6.3, ISO 400 (settings histogram checked, and tweaked often with the fast fading light), natural light, handheld, FF. Some distracting elements in the BG removed in post.
Hi Daniel. I love the contemplative kind of mood of this image, and the bird is very much a part of that. Great capture. Also agree on the light and the reflection. Lovely!
