I have posed a second image of this backlit Jackal, could have gone darker but decided not to..
Nikon D3 600 VR 840mm, 1/1250sec at F6.3 ISO1250. In PS reduced exposure by about three and a half stops.

    Like this a lot Viv,
perfect rim lighting for mine with just enough detail on the jackal itself.
Only wish to have a little more room all round if possible.

Vivaldo - I really like how the bushiness of the tail comes through here. Since they were posted one after the other, the comparison to your other shot is inevitable and I prefer the wider look and angled body of your first one. Had I not seen that one, this would have blown me away. Well done.

also a very nice rim-lit shot Vivaldo
I don't think this one would work that well as a "darker" version because the shape of the jackal would cause confusion with only one ear etched out against the light

was there some OOF grass on the front LHS??

Wonderful golden rim lighting, Vivaldo - really creates a great dramatic mood. Think it works with just a hint of detail, and not fully dark silhouette. Nicely done!

These are such wonderful images Vivaldo!
Hope you don't mind me playing with it a bit as I feel it is an excellent excercise for all of us.
In this repost I added some canvas top and sides and boosted levels a bit. I had to reduce the reds a bit as it looked too red to me after applying leves. One important thing is that you don't save your images as sRGB for web so your original looks a bit flat.

Thanks for all comments it's appreciated Morkel Tx I extended the canvas on the left hand side and cloned out repetative grass.
Ofer thanks again, for me both version work well, your looks great as you get more detail compared to mine. I have reposted a SRGB version.

Hi Vivalso, I think soemthing doesn't work properly when you convert to sRGB as your last repost is still ADOBE RGB 98.
Here is the original saved as sRGB...
