    This image is a female Boat-tailed Grackle of the Gulf Coast/Florida form. It was taken on 4/7/2011 at Eagle Lakes Community Park in Naples, FL.

    Nikon D300S, 80-400mm lens, fill flash, tripod
    1/500sec, f 6.3, ISO 200, 280mm

    Nice details with a peaceful BG. I think this photo would work better if the bird would be watching more to its left.

    Well shot Rich, I have never seen a light phase grackle, they are just arriving here and starting their very noising mating. The ones we have here are dark, very dark purple and both male and female look the same. Maybe I am only seeing males.
