I am a South African working in Dubai but have a home in Perth, WA. I have a passion for birds and photography but do I qualify as an honorary Aussie?

David isn't Perth nearly a suburb of South Africa:D I am origianly a Kiwi and I have found that as long as you don't mention how the "Wallabies" are going the locals accept us:D

LOL. I think you're right Michael and I won't mention the rugby. (I have sorted that one out by supporting both the Stormers and Western Force - their home ground is close to my house in Subaico!) Seriously though, I look forward to learning more about Australia's fantastic birdlife and capturing as much of it as possible on (digital) film when I'm able to spend more time there. . . .

    G'day Lance,
When I'm in Hamilton it's usually somewhere in the southern Grampians or a few spots along the Wannon River. I've also done a fair bit of work at Bryans Swamp and Lake Linlithgow. Used to live up your way in the 80s at Kaniva. Also try to get to Hattah at least one week each year. Have only been digital since Dec 2006 but have been photographing birds since the mid 80s.
    cheers Rob
