    Default Redshank and Black-tailed Godwit

    The weather was good a little bite of sunlight so ,I could make a picture of this ''couple''



    f 8 iso 400 ev -1/3 1/400 at 700mm with mark 1d3 500 + 1.4 ex

    Certainly a unique photo opportunity.

    More natural perches would have been nice although these are probably well used and as is often the case part of their habitat.

    I might add a bit of room all around.

    I also like that both heads are facing to bird's left.

    Dave thanks for your reaction. I had no more room around the birds because this is full frame. I could back up with the car but I forget too do that.....sorry !

    Beautiful birds, soft light, and I don't mind the perches. Head angle on the godwit is better than on the redshank. And yes, if it fits with your personal ethics adding some canvas top and right would be easy.

    Or, you could have removed the 1.4X TC :)

    Where exactly? When exactly? I will be visiting Holland next spring mainly to photograph Black-tailed Godwit :)

    Arthur thanks for your reaction also. This one is better then the last one I hope. I read your book again and hope it will be better.

    And the place where I tmake this one is Arkemheen nearby zeewolde/putten near Amersfoort holland .

    They are there now best for shooting in the earley evening

    Interesting to see two species in one image...Love the BG...Not great the un-natural perch and I also wish for a bit more room....TFS Willem
