    This was taken in South Florida. I need help with ID of this heron.

    Jim,

    Dark morph Reddish Egret, probably a late first year or early second year bird.

    That's what it looks like in the Sibley guide. The bird looks relatively light so it might confuse people to say it's the dark morph. The species comes in light/white and dark/grey-rusty morphs. The juvenile white morphs are really light/white so this one would fall into the dark morph category. You can see the reddish colouration just beginning to form on the nape of this young bird.
