Took this a couple of days ago at a free-flying raptor display. At O'Reilly's south west of Brisbane Australia. As you can see in the eye reflection it was a sunny day with scattered cloud. These birds have a wingspan of over 2 metres/7ft.

While I enjoy seeing species from the USA, Canada, SA and India on here, it is nice to see an Australian species.

    Nice close up.

Nice head shot, is it a captive bird? I'm asking because is too close for a 100-400 mm lens, in portugal eagles don't let the photographers to get so close, but in Australia I really don't know...

Humberto, as I said in the OP "at a free-flying raptor display" so yes the bird was tame but not caged. Thanks for the comment.

Amazing, wonderful close-up, Colin! Love the eye, and excellent detail, sharpness all around. Nice pleasant green BG provides good contrast. Well done!
