    Default Sunning American Coot v2

I posted an image of an American Coot a few weeks ago (here) - there was some disagreement about whether to crop out part of the reflection. Here is another shot with a different pose from the same shoot. This time, I elected to crop the image differently. Although I really like the visibility of the big feet in the first image, I much prefer the feather detail shown in this shot.

Although I like this image too, the first one has much more visual impact IMO. This one also features a beautiful BG, a nice perch, and good techs. The small knob from the perch at the end of the foot bothers me a bit.

Nice work, Jeff. Love the log, the pose and the feather detail. Sweet background as well.

    Jeff,

Love that background! The perch could lose the bit sticking out as Daniel said, but it doesn't bother me too much. Feather detail and exposure are very nice. Pose is different than the norm.

I think the head could use some selective sharpening since it does not appear as detailed as the rump and legs.

    Very nice capture though!

    thanks
    Charles
