House Sparrow

I had gone out to get a particular photo of a Tree Swallow on a perch near a nest house. These little House Sparrows were setting up squatters rights, and I could not pass up the opportunity.

7D, 500mm +1.4TC, 1/500, f/5.6, ISO400.

Real nice sharp & clean comp, Dave. Like the fine detail & texture of the feathers, pose, eye contact, diagonal perch, and soft tan BG works really well to bring out colors. Maybe some lightening of beak area to bring a bit more detail there. Nicely done!

I like it. Cute pose typical of this species. I'd see if I could tone down the brightest part of the perch below the feet, and I would give the comp more room - especially above and a bit left. Good sharpness and nice, even BG.

I agree with Daniel little bit more room in the comp placing the bird in the middle/right side of frame. Feather detail and eye contact great. Feet are slightly oof.
