Red Bellied Woodpecker photographed in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge (Oklahoma) using a Nikon D300, 600mm +1.4x, ISO400, 1/1250, f8. Sun was getting pretty high, but couldn't pass him up.

    Thanks for looking, Dave

Looks fantastic! Light doesn't look too harsh to me.

Hi Dave, nice to see a different pose than on a large tree. Very nice background, nice shot.

I agree, the light looks good, and I like the leaning out pose. Lovely smooth BG too.

Real nice, Dave. Great colors, detail, sharpness, and BG works wonderfully to enhance bird.
Good composition, and you managed the bright light very well.

Very well exposed and no effects from bright light.

I also like the pose. It is a bit different and shows off red belly.

    Very nicely done.

Like the perch and the position of the head. Nice color as well.

Simply a fabulous image, Dave. The detail, comp, head angle, setting and technical
aspects all perfect in my view.
