Lovely light, colours, pose, detail and BG! Would move the bird a bit more to the left.

You have nailed this one mate. Great flying posture, sharp, and love the overall detail. I really like that BG - was this from the hide?

Love the sharpness, the details and the flight pose. The green area under the right wing can be a bit distraction but it's blurred enough that I don't mind. Great image, I love it.

I really like the dynamic pose.

DOF looks spot on also with sharpness though out.

We have lots of similar herons around here, and I love watching them but find it tough to get an interesting photo so thanks for posting.

Looks like it is perhaps coming in over some water.

    Thanks for the comments guys

Stuart, it was from Mankwe, afternoon light to the right of the dead branches. It came flying in to land on the woodwork!

Dave you are spot on and the Heron was flying over water

Wonderful detail - definitely one of the very best heron in flight shots I have seen.

Real nice BIF capture, Dumay. Wonderful pose, with full extentions of wings and legs. Nice exposure, with good underwing detail and even light all the way across. Well done
