    Default Red-tail Sketch-Fract

A captive Red-tail coming in for a landing. Processed it using Topaz Adjust Sketch Pad-pencil on duplicate layer and reduced opacity to reveal a smidge of color. Also used Fractalius (go figure) on another duplicate layer and reduced the opacity considerably. All the while masking back in the original eye.

    Look forward to comments.

Awesome pose and processing. I think the grain in the BG adds a nice texture. Love the eye!

great job with all the effects, and great eye and pose!
Like Steve, I like the talons too. I wonder if you masked out a lot of the filters on the talons, like you did the eye, they would stand out sharper and a more noticeable black.
You said the bird was captive, did it have jesses/leathers?

I was thinking the same thing as above...make the talons stand out more, but a lovely piece of work Andrew, well done.

Thanks folks for the comments, much appreciated!

Cheryl, yes the bird had jesses. Cloning them out and their corresponding shadows on the tail feathers was a bit of a challenge.

Andrew, I love the pose and the effect from Topaz - the eye makes it stunning.

Stunning pose and processing, Andrew! Love all the detail and the eye really makes the shot. Only thing I might change would add to a bit more room to the top and left if you have it. Well done!

This is awesome, Andrew! Love the sketch look, and just the touch of red in the eye.
Would make a nice print, nicely done!
