I am going through the thousands of images from the latest trip to Homer and plaid a bit with the contrast on this one. Shot with Nikon D300 + 70-200/2.8 VR II at 1/1600 f5.6 + 1 1/3 at 300mm.
Thanks for looking, Giulio

I like the pose and artistic effect of the background. I find the blue tones on the top of the head to be a bit distracting.
Giulio,
Big fan of black backgrounds and drama. Subject placement work very well. Very nice image.

Hi Julio,
The light on this one is really special. The eagle looks like it is passing through a spotlight. Very unique. I love the power dive position of the bird, and the composition. Would be a plus for me if you could see a little more of the lower wing tip. Enjoyed meeting and shooting with you!

Giulio, you may know that this lighting technique is called chiaroscuro. This is a great example of this, with the subject lit strongly and the background in darkness. I like the pose and the composition. Would like to see the wingtips and there could be more detail where the lower wing attaches to the body. It looks like a disconnect there. Good thinking to make this image!

This looks like a difficult shot to get, and you did a nice job, Giulio. Very cool lighting and awesome flight pose. Would be great if you had more of the wing tips, and I agree about blue spot just above left side of head.
Thank you for pointing at the blue spot over the head, I had not noticed it, I'll try to fix it.
Mike, it was a nice group in Homer and I have good memories, except for my rig rig falling down

Love the dramatic lighting!
Really pops from the dark BG....Very nice impact in this image!
