Default It finally did swallow it!!

Only took it about three tries:eek: This Cedar Waxwing swallowed the berry halfway down three times only to bring it back up to the tip of it's bill...pause for a few moments to regain composure (and a breather)...and then try again. I thought it would give up and pick up a smaller fruit, but no, being the tenacious one it finally did succeed.

Yes I wish the branches above were not there but I feel the subject matter is strong enough to overcome this.

Great job on a an amazing action shot. Your exposure on this is perfect. As you mentioned, the branches do take away a lot from the image. Unfortunatly, this would probably be quite hard to clone out. Otherwise, this is a wonderful image that I would be quite proud to have taken.

Well caught Daniel, just at the right moment!! Good detail and exposure but find my eye attracted to the bright strip at the top.

    Daniel,
Very nice image. Honestly I think with the invention of the digital technology (which I have gratefully used on many an occasion) we have become used to images far more perfect than reality and tend to become obsessed with very minor "imperfections" of the image (such as these branches). In short they don't bother me at all, they were there, show habitat and give a sense of place. In no way to do I find them a negative. Congratulations on a superb action-filled image that tells a great story.

    Best,

Really good!I like the pose and the branches just adds the feeling of being outdoors.I agree that it's a tendency towards studiolike pictures. Some blurr and branches in the BG is more natural to me and makes often the compositon more interesting to watch.
