    Default Sunset grab

First post, from Homer a few weeks ago with Robert O'Toole / Artie workshop.

    1D4, ISO800, f8, 1/1000, 70-200mm/2.8 II @ 150mm, birds brought in with herring.

I'm tempted to grab some more sky from an adjacent frame to give more room at the top, interested in thoughts on that.

    Thanks for looking.

Welcome and a very nice first silhouette. Nice wing span, outstretched talons, beautiful sun reflection on the water and the open beak. The thought on a little more sky might work if the eagle was closer to the sun, IMO, but will wait to see what the others think. TFS for sharing and welcome aboard.

    Gary.

Ken, congrats on your first post. Good silhouette with a good dynamic pose, against a colourful water BG. I feel if you eliminated the horizon, the image would work much better.

Really great silhouette Ken - the colours are magnificent. I am going to agree with Gary - I like having the setting sun in the shot but would have liked to see the horizon line lower in the frame. Do you have a bit more canvas you could add at the top? (you could probably add at the right also to keep your aspect ratio intact)

Very nice...I really like it. Only thing I thought when I looked at the thumbnail was to see more sky

Thanks all for your comments, here's a repost with lowered horizon and more sky.
