    From our town beach on the Long Island sound where egrets gather prior to fishing. Despite there being several trees that they could perch in , they all prefer this one and posture for their chosen spots. (There was a wing tip of a black crown night heron in the sky that had to be ejected.)

    Thanks for looking and for your comments.

    Grace;

    Interesting image, the front bird in lower right, looking up at the incoming bird adds a lot.

    I might be tempted to clean up the two partial wings pointing up at the incoming bird.

    If you were set up for this particular shot, I might push up the ISO to give more options for DOF to try and get more of the birds in focus.

    Cheers

    Grace, the incoming egret is nicely framed between the perched egrets, and I like the space in this. Whites look good, and agree removing the spare wings would work.

    Nice action. I like the overall feel here, and the incoming bird is placed and posed perfectly. I wish the second egret from right had a better HA (I know, we can't ask for everything in such a scene right!) and find the snowy at right too close to the edge IMO...I'd either add back a sliver more canvas, or, GASP....remove it completely(!).

    A fun image!!

    Nice image Grace, I too really like the one bird looking up at the one landing. Great handling of the exposure with so many whites. Love the JKF analagy.
