    Default Gadwall Blur

    Finally getting around to posting one without Fractalius A Gadwall drake, flash blur, from yesterday's outing. I was following this fella hoping he would come in a little closer when he took flight. Fired a series of images and got this one that I kinda liked.

    Look forward to comments.

    Outstanding job, Andrew! The blur of the wings and BG is perfect, and I love that you got the head so sharp. The flying drops behind him are a nice touch! Only thing I wish for would be a catchlight in the eye. Well done!

    Amazing action shot, Andrew. Love everything about it.
    I'm trying to wrap my head around how you did it. :2 Were you panning also?

    Hi Steve, I think it was mostly due to luck. I did pan rather quickly and only got this one image with the complete bird in the frame. The flash helped here also.

    I did notice once I posted that I forgot to clone out the small bright spot on the bill - will have to take care of that and try to add a catchlight as Christopher suggests.

    Andrew,

    Beautiful blur. I'm in awe over these types of images as wildlife photos are difficult enough for me just to get a decent pose let alone capture them in a creative blur. Well done.

    Nice pan blur Andrew, I really like it. The wings and water drops are great and the flash made for a nice contrast between blur and sharpness.

    Excellent capture and processing Andrew! The background blur is perfection and I like that the head is sharp.

    Andrew, You know I love this one. Nice sharpness mixed w/ blur and I agree the catchlight would be a nice addition to this lovely blur.

    Hi Andrew;

    Another masterpiece created by your skill and willingness to be adventurous. The blur is perfection, and overall a masterpiece. The flash was icing on the cake.

    Warm regards

    Gus
