    Default Zinnia Zoom - Revisited

    Attached Images Attached Images

    For those of you that have been around for a long while you might remember this one...I called it Zinnia Zoom and did a tutorial on how to do a radial blur on a flower back in 2008. I went back tonight and reworked the image, this time adding a white vignette to soften the outlying edges. PP consisted of a square crop, the radial zoom blur technique, the liquify filter to pull some of the shorter petals all the way to the edge of the frame, a curves adjustment and the addition of a white vignette added in Color Efex Pro.

    Jules, You knocked it out of the park with this one! Excellent filtering, colors and vignette. I wouldn't change a thing. I do remember this one.

    This is scrumptious, Julie. And the dash of yellow is the dessert. Wonderfully presented.

    Jules,

    This is beautiful. I love quickly blinking my eyes with my attention focused on the center and watching the image burst from the screen. Well done.

    Outstanding zoom blur Jules! I like everything about it, it fades nicely from the sharp center to the edges.

    Okay, Richard, I tried that and it freaked me out!

    Glad you all like the image. I'm having a blast going through all the old stuff and retrying new things I've learned over the years.

    Hi Jules;

    You nailed it, Young Lady. I love everything about it and it has aged like a fine wine.

    Congrats . . .

    Gus, you're the only one who calls me 'young lady'. At 51 years of age I mostly just get "ma'am" these days...ACK!!!

    lovely image, Julie!
    I really llike its soft look, while still have so much movement and activity going on.
    Now after learning Richard's fract method that brings out the black accents, I wonder how this would look with some black background lines, to add some depth around the petals.

    Lovely as it is. Just so much for me to learn in this forum!!! Now I need to see if I can find your tutorial from 2008.
    You are 51?? Hah, just a babe!

    Very soft and sweet. Love the treatment and even the fact that the flower is looking slightly to our left.
