    From my recent Alaska trip.. I don't see these animals out of the water very often. This also seems to be a large speciman. Handheld from boat. Shown full frame.

    He sure does look big, nice capture. Love the detail in the fur, his/her espression and camera angle. In a perfect world I would love to see his/her other eye.

    Good look at this species. I think a pano crop may be a good thing to try here.

    nice pose and composition here Dale

    how about a slight crop from the RHS to nip off the shadow behind the ice that is drawing my eye? I know how you feel about cropping - just "testing the water" as it were

    Maybe he is a she & she is pregnant. That would account for her size.
    Great image. I like the detail in the ice & the look on the sea otter's face.

    I like this a lot...Give me a warm feeling inside( Maybe thats because I think warm when I see the ice) Nice image
