As a few members below me here have posted different species of Kingfishers, I thought I would join in the fun and post one out my archives. This is a Pied Kingfisher taken early morning at the Mankwe hide in the Pilanesberg nature reserve. The BG is an distant OOF mountain.

    Stuart:
Lovely colors in BG, sharp, well exposed, neat pose, fun perch.

My only wish would be for less of the bird being blocked by the perch.''

    Very well done.

excellent light, details and a great BG, wish the KF was standing on the highest part of the perch but still a great shot

Very good exposure which show good details in both black and white, something which is tough to do and you did it well. Love the sharpness, background and the concentrated pose too. Agree about the perch blocking the bird.

I like the concentrated pose and stare, and the overall quality of the image...but as stated previously I too wish the perch didn't block so much of the KF.

Outstanding work on the exposure of this black-and-white bird in bright light. The BG is delicious. I could love that gnarly old perch if only the kingfisher weren't so much blocked by it.
