    Somehow in this, I felt the not so great reflection balances the comp and left it in. Taken at Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary in Pretoria.

    Looks like you were up early again to beat the crushing African sun. Your exposure is spot-on in the sweet light. The whole pond is distractingly ripply but not much to be done about that. Was the wind whipping up the water?

    Thanks Craig. This was taken last year, so I cant remember if it was windy. Normally the water is still, apart from other ducks disturbing the surface which is probably what was happening here.

    Lovely light and detail...I like the colors in the water and I agree re comp with reflection...it does balance it

    Like the way the head is positioned between the wings and the landing wake through the smooth portion of the water.

    Hi Stuart, nice landing pose and I like the splash trail. You have captured a nice head turn with great eye contact and I agree the reflection does provide ballance.
