I added a texture overlay and the fractalius filter to this Purple Coneflower. I wanted it to be dark.

Cool looking flower, Denise. Love the rich colors on this, and the dark BG really brings them out. Like the hint of the stem, and the processing makes it unique and interesting to look at.
To me, the smokey-like texture that surrounds the flower could be a kind of visual representation of its fragrance. Nicely done!

Gosh Denise, it is glowing purple wonderfulness! Love the subdued fract work and the dark background. Super job!

I like Brendan's thoughts of the fragrance in the image, seems very apt. I like the dark feel you've achieved here.

    Denise,

Love the dark look, softness and use of Fractalius. Reminds me of a flower spacecraft... I thought those nature fairies might be up to some mischief. Beautifully done.

Beautiful glow amongst the darkness. Thought provoking... and fun to read the reactions and imaginings of everyone.
