Love the pose, perch, and BKGR. The near foot position is way cool. The bird, esp. the face, looks a tad over-sharpened.

Neat bird, I love the plumage. BG and perch look great. Pose is nice too. Personal peference would be for the subject a bit smaller in the frame with more room above and left, but still OK as is. I find the WB a bit on the "cool" side - have you tried a slightly warmer version?

I have the room to try a recrop and will see how it looks a little warmer. Thanks to everyone for the comments and suggestions.

Hi Jim, Good pose and HA, and love the various blues on him. Interesting curves on the perch, and the lichen adds interest. Stands out nicely against the smooth BG.

    JIm
At 1/60 very nicely done - like the pose, HA, BG and moss on the perch

To me , colors look about right for a dark, shady setting in CR

If this was a natural perch , not much you could do about the OOF section on LHS, but if it was a setup, might have tried to work with a straighter twig/branch positioned parallel to camera sensor

You might also consider touching up the eye

You've done well with the tanagers - thanks for sharing

Hi Jim, love the pose and the BG sets off the colours of the bird nicely.

Nice looking bird. The soft light really brings out the colors.

Is this what you had in mind?
