    Default Ring-billed Gull.

I do have more Florida images to process share, but this is a "back to reality" image - recently taken at Petrie Island (along the Ottawa River) in the cold and snow. The Ring-billed Gulls are back, and they are looking quite prime and fresh in their breeding plumage of pure white feathers and blood-red eye-rings. Still quite the gluttonous ones, and easily attracted with morsels of food...

Canon 30D + 100-400L @300mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2500s., f/8, ISO 400 (settings histogram checked), natural light, handheld, almost full-frame with canvas added top and left.

    Daniel:

Excellent exposure here, really like the pose, sharp. He seems quite intent on finding the morsels you mentioned,

Like how the wings work the diagonals

Nice shot Daniel. Exposure was right on. Lots of definition in the the bird and snow.

I like the fact that you have no bluish cast on this snowy photo, well done Daniel. And I get a feeling that the Gull understands this also and is therefore bowing in front of you...

Dan, excellent pose with the outstretched wings, and you have certainly nailed the exposure here. Love the whites, sharp, and I actually like this lots. Well done.
