    These little birds are a challenge and actually help to keep your reflexes ready for the action.
    Anybody that wants to shoot birds in flight should practice in areas that keep you busy trying.
    This is not a setup The bg is water

    Nikon D7000 AFS 600 F 4 1.4 TC Wimberely 2 head
    1/3200 ISO 1000 F8

    Sweet capture, James! I see you are using the D7000 at 3200 ISO! Very smooth for the $$$! Did you crop much and use much NR? Just curious and interested in the D7000.

    Thanks for the comments..... its an incredible camera I have no problems shooting at ISO 1600 were I would only shoot up to 800 on my D300. This is a 40% crop but the extra pixels are a big plus since it has 16.2 megapixels. : - ) no noise reduction was used this picture was ISO 1000 that Common Goldeneye I posted a few days ago was ISO 1600 and no noise reduction.

    OOps my mistake, James! None the less, 40% crop, ISO 1000 and no NR! Impressive for the $$$!!1

    Excellent capture with great detail and good light. Love the eye contact and colour on the crown.

    WOW!!! The best in flight image I have seen of a Swallow of any kind...Light, exp and IQ are top class...Super stuff James..I am loving your work
