Here is one for the theme this month.

After I took this shot, I opted not to have fish for dinner.

Nikon d300, 500mm f/4, 1/400 sec, at f5.0, ISO 500, Manual, No flash.
Haines, Alaska.

I cropped it tight on purpose, but I go back and forth with the original shot that has the talons in it.

Well, after viewing this image I think I'll opt in not having fish for dinner too!! I nornally would prefer an eagle in more pristine condition than this, but this ratty individual fits perfectly with the image's overall macabre mood...

Looks like you had difficult light coming from the right. I'd be interested in seeing a version with the talons, but if you keep it this way I'd prefer a bit more room above (for the head), right, and left (to add thickness to the leg at the edge).

I like the crop, I'd actually go tighter.
