It was really clousy on the Hooptie Deux on SAT morning. I awoke at 26 am and left the motel in Ft. Myers at 35 am to make it to the dock on time. (It only took me 1 hr, 44 min to make the 124 miles... Saw a guy fall asleep at the wheel right next to me as he was doing 79 mph. He likely lived as he did not roll the vehicle.) IAC, with the poor light and drizzle early on I was creating blurs by setting the shutter speed manually to 1/30 sec. and then ajusting the aperture and ISO to read +3 stops off of the very greay and dingy sky.

Canon 400mm f/4 IS DO lens with the 1.4X II TC and the EOS-1D MII. ISO 400. 1/40 sec. (I must have hit the shutter speed dial...) at f/5.6.

At Venice it was the same Gloomy and rain but we were standing on terra ferma !!!! Glad you made it !!!!

I like the head onthe front one, the wings on the back one but not the overlap. It bit more of the mangrove would have been nice.

Hi Artie! When I saw the thumbnail of this image, it immediately reminded me of West Coast Native American art with the their somewhat abstract way of portraying birds. At first glance, it looked as if the left wing of the following bird was a head. The smaller this image is, the better it works from an abstract point of view. I'm ambivalent about the tree tops in the bottom right corner. Can't decide if they add to or subtract from the abstract feel of the image.

Hi Artie, I would have loved two birds separate. Like the left wing blur of bird at the back. There appears to be a white 'hole' created by the tail feather and the right wing of the bird at the back. That appears to be slightly distracting. I like the leaves on the bottom right. Nice effort. Please keep it flowing.
