    Pieter:

Great eye contact, interesting pose, well exposed.

The amount of clutter does distract from the bird somewhat, esp. all the high contrast areas of dark against light.

The near wing looks a bit sharper than the head. where was your focus point at?

Any post processing done on that near wing, as it looks a bit lighter than I would expect based on the light angle. It does show pretty good detail there, a plus.

This is an impressive bird, look forward to more posts.

    Cheers

Hey Pieter , love the pose with wings up and staring eyes. I think the face and eyes can be selectively sharpened some more. Well captured.

I'll echo Randy...very interesting species with a nice pose, but the very cluttered BG does detract from the subject. Light angle wasn't best either coming from a hard left...I do realize it can be hard to change positions without spooking raptors.

Randy - you are right about the focus point, it was just below the wing about 4 o'clock from the eyes.
Pieter - will sharpen the face as you suggested
Daniel - I agree with you and Randy regarding the BG clutter, if I could have got my wife to manoeuvre the car into a better position the light angle may have been a bit better!
