I was at Gatorland yesterday to see the progress in the Rookery. After getting some really great shots of the nesting waders, I headed over to the Swamp Walk where I heard at least 6 distinct bird calls among a very active chorus. I wasn't able to see who all was singing that morning, but I did manage to capture an image of one of the song-birds. Looking through my Sibley Field Guide, I think this is a White-Eyed Vireo. I hope it is, since this would be a first for me. Thanks for your help.

Correct Dawn. An adult- note the white eye. Well done. Although vireos are not related to warblers, they look a lot like that group in non-breeding plumage. However, once you get a general sense of how vireos look, which is hard to put into words, you will"get" them. Almost universally, vireos are heavier-billed than warblers and a lot slower-moving.
