    Default Drying Off

Female Anhinga - She was drying her feathers on the edge of the bank, there was no way to get a clean full body shot without having the grass in the photo. Therefore, I decided on this unconventional crop. WB was set to flash with Beamer. Sun was directly behind me. Does the color look ok? Hope you like it.

Troy, I am fine with the unusual crop. Very nice BG. If mine, I'd tone down the high tones a bit. I'd also extend the canvas a tad on the left...wing is too close to the edge I feel.

I like what you are trying to do here with the crop. Love the sharpness, the details and nice clean background. Agree about a bit more room on the left and I might consider cropping a tiny bit off the top as well.

Great looking bird, and like the pose and unusual crop, Troy. Love the texture of the feathers you have captured & BG works well. Agree with toning down highs a bit and tad more room on Lft. Well done!

Very nice light and feather detail. I like the comp, but I can see a number of compositions that I think would have worked as well.

My interpretation of your image, or my interpretation of an Anhinga portrait?

Some of the ideas I was refering to in my comment would involve parts of the bird that are not present in your photo.

Here is one of my close up female Anhinga portraits:
