I'd be pleased to have taken that image. Light in the eye, good. the seed adds a good touch, too.

Great bird Lee. I love them. The lighting is nice here- soft and flat- that's personally what I like. The food item adds interest to the image. I think the crop is a bit tight- you could add more room at least to the top. Notice how the head is angled away from you- it would be optimal if the head were angled a little toward you rather than away. I see some noise in the feathers, which is common in the older bodies like the D200, but which can be dealt with. I would also lighten up the bird a little- several ways to do this but the middle slider in Photoshop Levels works well.

I love these little birds...they can be fast as lightning at the feeders so good for you at getting one to hold still long enough for you to get a photo.

Agree with John that the head angle is not optimal here and there is some noise in the feathers - was this underexposed to start with? You've done well recovering it for the most part. You might try a very light pass of noise reduction and see if it leaves the detail in the feathers while removing some of the noise.

Great fine detail and color in the feathers. I find the prominent line between the bright and dark areas in the upper Left hand corner a little distracting. Looks like the focus point is in the flank area and starting to fall off at the level of the forehead.
